Gibson’s limited edition self-tuning guitars (Robot Les Paul)were so successful the company is trying its luck again with the new Gibson Robot SG Special Ltd. Electric Guitar in earth-shaking colors of Metallic Purple and Metallic Green.

The SG Robotic Guitar has all the basic features of the traditional SG electric guitar including its tone, power and overall performance. The only difference is the Robotic automatic tuning feature.

The regular guitar requires constant tuning if you want to it to sound and play good. However, the SG Robotic Guitar need not be tuned up on a regular basis since the robotic function does it for you. With the SG Robotic Guitar, you need not worry about anything else just your playing.

The guitar’s Tune Control bridge detects the pitch of each guitar string which is then analyzed by the guitar’s central processing unit. The CPU then transmits the information to the tuning machines.

While the self-tuning feature is the selling point of this guitar, one could not help but appreciate its looks. Aside from the metallic finish, its mahogany body has a nitrocellulose finish, a mahogany neck with a rounded profile and ebony fretboards.
